I want to tell you about a very special project – involving some very special guys – that I’m incredibly excited about. It involves a once-in-a-lifetime journey… and I know you’ll be amazed by what it entails.
This coming July, a special group of veterans, all of whom are blind, intend to go on a whitewater kayaking trip down the rapids on the Yellowstone River in Montana – and we want to film a documentary of the expedition in order to inspire not justother veterans facing their own physical limitations – but also to inspire everyone who watches it to never give up on their dreams. Four of these men lost their sight while serving in the Afghanistan and Iraq conflicts and have never attempted anything like this. We will witness their initial training and their actual whitewater adventure. Leading this quarter will be Lonnie Bedwell, another veteran who made history by becoming the first blind person to ever kayak through the entire length of the Grand Canyon.
As you can see, this will be an amazing experience for the four veterans attempting this feat for the first time – and I guarantee it will make for an amazing film. But here’s where I need YOUR help…In order to finance the making of this inspiring and unforgettable documentary, I’m asking for donations from you or anyone else who might be interested in participating in this special project. Anyone who makes a donation of $1000 or more will be given on-screen credit as well as their own copy of the documentary when it’s completed.
As many of you are already aware, many of our veterans, the brave men and women who fought for our country in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, were wounded and permanently disabled during their service. As a matter of fact, according to VA statistics, one in 10 of all U.S. veterans is disabled. Yes, a full ten percent. The good news is that many of those veterans refuse to give up on life – and continue to do everything in their power to live to the fullest.
We don’t have much time to pull this together, so I hope you’ll act fast to help us honor the courage of these incredible U.S. veterans - and make a substantial donation TODAY. Please feel free to contact me if you want more details on the project. I truly hope you’ll consider pitching in so we can share this incredible story with the world.
